Powered by a Mountfield 100cc 4 stroke engine, the SP414 self propelled lawnmower is ideal for small to medium sized lawns. The engine is easy to start, with a standard recoil rope system and will give many years of trouble-free mowing.
There are 3 height adjusters, offering 5 pre-set cutting positions from 25mm to 70mm, so adjusting the height of cut is quick and simple.
The quick to remove collector holds 40 litres of grass and the mower can also be used without the collector, if you wish to leave the cuttings.
This great little mower is a joy to use and extremely economical to run. With a polypropylene chassis in 'Mountfield Red', it will give you many years of service and have small to medium sized lawns looking lush, neat and tidy in no time.

Puchased one of these in May 2014. Had moved into a new property with an overgrown garden, some clearing and the fist job it had to do was a hard one, it had to find a lawn in there. Anyway a year later I have a fine lawn!
This has easily been the best lawn mower I've bought, the engine is a little gem just chugs along and very economical. It did cut out a couple of times on a mowing session a few weeks ago then checked and it was nearly out of fuel, I hadn't filled it full at the start of the season. Forget about the fuel really as it just sips it.
Pleasure to own and delighted with it!

I never give online reviews but felt I had to for this fantastic mower. I've had it nearly 3 years and it's never given any problems; I haven't even serviced it.
It starts first pull, every time, even after the winter lay off. It's substantial but not too heavy and turns moving from a chore into a pleasure.
My tennis club recently bought a Qualcast but it's heavy, hard to start, and this Mountfield beats it on every score.

I have had my SP414 about a month now and used a few times with no issues and starts first time. The only issue I found was assembly of the collection basket as the pictures and description not to clear and was trying to put it on the wrong way. Other than that its great and not issues and collects more grass than my old flymo and doesn't blow it everywhere.... Thank you Mountfield

I like this mower but the self propelled is a bit sudden and it left marks and dirt patches all over it over all I like it.

I bought the Mountfield SP414 about 2 months ago, and it has been completely flawless.
It is a modern looking mower, and quite attractive compared to some older machines.
The wheel trims really make it look nice.
The engine is only a wee 100CC 2.6 Horse Power unit, but it manages extremely well to cut the grass, and power the self propulsion.
There isn't really much I else I can say, apart from it is a fantastic mower and if you are on the fence about buying it, DO SO!(Posted on 26/08/2011)
